What is Thinking Golf? In short, it is the way to get the most out of your golf ability. You don't think you have any ability and that is why you are looking at websites about golf? I sincerely doubt that you have no ability! However, you have happened on a website to help you become a better golfer, no matter what your current ability or what you are scoring right now, if you currently play at all. We do not keep up with the various tours or other current events in golf. We teach people to play golf and we teach people to play the game better. We teach people to enjoy the game for a lifetime.

If you are patient enough to read through the sections in their entirety, what is presented to you is enough to give you some background and history, courtesy and etiquette, and knowledge of the game; enough so that you will not embarrass yourself with other players, even if you have never played. In fact we encourage you to read through the Courtesy and Etiquette section before looking into other instruction and informational pages. If you truly make an effort to follow the instructional guidelines we present, you WILL play better! Several sections of the instructional pages have been split into multiple pages due to the size of them so that they can load in a reasonable time.

We use Microsoft's Internet Explorer (6, 7, 8 and 9) as our primary browser but as of September 2011, Chrome, FireFox and Safari seem to work flawlessly, with Chrome being the fastest by far. We still have some issues with Safari. We do not have any pages that plant anything on computers, not even a cookie; our site is 100% free of viruses, spyware and adware. If something appears to NOT work correctly and you are using a browser other than IE, try IE and the problem, we feel, will probably go away. However, if for some odd or unusual reason it does not, PLEASE let us know! If it does or does not go away, we would still like to know about the situation and the browser you are trying to use and the set of circumstances that caused the issue. We do make every effort to correct problems and links that dissolve with time. We also welcome your comments, good or bad; here are some of them.

To navigate our site, the navigation bar at the bottom of the page (all pages) offers you a pathway to all of our content on the site. Our site screen layout is optimized for a 1024 x 768 browser window (or greater) and if yours is set smaller, then you may have to use not only the vertical browser movement and scroll bar but the horizontal as well to better display all of the information. The 'Instruction' page is in itself a very large content menu of all of the many golf instructional pages, but certainly not all of the pages on the site; the informational but Non-Instruction Informational menu covers the balance of the pages. Near the bottom of each page, there is also a "Next suggested page" link that is the next logical page. You can also locate ANY of our pages on our Site Map Menu. Scroll to the bottom of ANY page to see the navigation bar, and click on ANY underlined link there or anywhere on the page to see the contents of that link; links information may be on any page. Links off of our site will open in a new browser window while links on our site, including links to our glossary, (in BOLD lettering) will open in the current window. Keep in mind that we do NOT have control of content off of our site and we would appreciate it if you would contact us if you find a dead link or a problem with the link contents.
